Elen is sworn in to a full six-year term on the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors.
Thank you for your support and your trust
After being first elected to a two-year term as supervisor in 2021, I was reelected to a full six-year term in 2023.
Preserving and improving the quality of life for Newtown Township residents is my passion, and I am excited to continue this important work.
ELEN WORKS TO:
PROMOTE SMART GROWTH, NOT OVERGROWTH
Rezoning will result in a revitalization of the Business Commons so that smart growth can be directed there. The community has made their wishes clear as far as the endless overdevelopment of our township is concerned.
FIND WAYS TO HIRE MORE FIREFIGHTERS
In the not-so-distant future our fire services will be facing a lack of volunteers coupled with only a few paid staff. Fire services must be expanded so that every home and business is assured of protection 24/7.
PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT
I will propose and support initiatives that make our community environmentally responsible while protecting open space. Let’s plant more trees and reduce our dependence on single-use plastics. We must do our part to ensure that future generations have a healthy environment. Alternative energy sources and building with green infrastructure will help.
KEEP TAXES LOW WHILE MAINTAINING COMMUNITY SERVICES
We have one of the lowest tax rates in the area. We must find a way to keep taxes low while maintaining our excellent services. My neighbors have made me aware of their concerns about the condition of our roads. We’re fortunate to have funds from the American Rescue Plan so that we can do more paving this year while giving more to Police, Fire, and Parks and Recreation.
WHAT ELEN HAS DONE:
I’m committed to this township that I am proud to call my home.
I created "Friends of Roberts Ridge Park," where the community came together to ensure that the open space would continue to be available to all simply by planting trees. That led me to join and eventually become vice-chair of the Newtown Township Environmental Advisory Committee. I worked hard on the "Single Use Plastics Resolution," which was passed unanimously by the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors in 2022.
Shortly after being elected, I worked with a fellow supervisor on the vital Fire Services Agreement with Newtown Borough, which passed after months of negotiation. The agreement assures the township of money for our firefighting services and ensures that the Newtown Township and Newtown Borough Fire Services will work together seamlessly.
I’m proud to have created our "Women’s Reproductive Healthcare Resolution" when the Dobbs Decision overturned Roe v Wade. Although we cannot make any laws as supervisors, we are entrusted with the health and welfare of our citizens.
I’ve been a Newtown Township Supervisor for a little over a year at this time. With your vote, I will continue to serve my community for my next full term.
“Quality of Life …the focus of everything I do”
I am a 35 year resident of Bucks County, and a six year resident of Newtown Township. The mother of two adult children, I now live here with my golden retriever, Nikki. I was born in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, and I’m a lifelong Philly sports geek, who bleeds green. Go Eagles!
